I was really nervous about recording this one, because this song needs a certain energy that’s easily begotten on stage and hard to reproduce in the studio. I couldn’t reproduce the vibe with my midi instruments very well for a demo, so instead I sent Mike a live tape and a guide vocal that I recorded over a very basic drum loop. As I’ve come to expect, Mike turned in a lively set of drums that closely matched the live tape in feel. After that it was a simple matter of adding the other instruments on top and presto! In the end, this turned out to be the easiest song so far. I hope you like it!
